At Community Sailing New Orleans, we believe sailing is for all.
This video shares the story of how a simple idea—making sailing accessible to all—has grown into Louisiana’s only community sailing center and a vibrant hub for education, adventure, and connection on Lake Pontchartrain.
From introducing children to the water through summer camps and STEM programs, to preparing teens for maritime careers, empowering women to take the helm, supporting veterans through therapeutic sailing experiences, and ensuring individuals of all abilities can experience the joy of being on the water, our programs use sailing as a platform for exploring new things, building skills, and making new connections.

Fall Sailing Program Registration Now Open!
Cooler temperatures, steady breezes, and beautiful sunsets make fall one of the best times of year to sail on Lake Pontchartrain. Whether you’re trying sailing for the first time, building your skills, or looking for a welcoming community on the water, we have a program for you!
This season includes a few exciting updates to our adult sailing programs:
- Women in the Wind has expanded! Based on participant feedback, each sail has been expanded from 2 hours to 3 hours, giving you more time for instruction, sailing, and creating connections. The class fee has been adjusted to reflect the additional hour of sailing.
- Beyond the Basics is now offered as a four-session course instead of a six-session course, with slightly longer classes, to make it easier to fit into busy schedules while providing the same amount of instructional time. Two course time slots are available each weekend, and pricing remains the same.
- The Tolmas Military Sailing Series has also been adjusted into a four-session course with slightly longer classes. Participants will receive the same amount of instruction and time on the water, and the course fee remains just $50 thanks to the generous support of the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust.
- 🍁 October Evening Classes = Special Savings!
Earlier sunsets mean shorter sails, so we’ve lowered the price of our October evening classes to reflect shorter sessions. Be sure to enter the coupon code listed on the registration page to receive the adjusted rate for those classes.
