Our Team

Jacob joined Community Sailing New Orleans in the spring of 2020 as their first Executive Director. In over a decade, he has gained extensive experience in a variety of sailing programs working with people of all ages and backgrounds. His passion for making sailing approachable and accessible to all was recognized by US Sailing in 2016 when he was honored by receiving the highest award in community sailing programs, the Martin A. Luray.

Khari joined Community Sailing New Orleans in the spring of 2022 as their Operations Director. Graduating from Hampton University, Khari studied Marine Biology & Environmental Science while competing on the Hampton University Sailing Team. Using his background, Khari aims to pair environmental concepts with physical activity to better engage and interest students about the natural world around them. With over a decade of experience as a recreational and competitive sailor as well as sailing instructor, Khari strives to introduce sailing and its opportunities to those communities that would not often have it.

Margi joined Community Sailing New Orleans in March of 2021 as Development Consultant. After practicing law and serving as a volunteer on nonprofit boards for twenty years, Margi transitioned to fundraising. She grew up sailing on Lake Michigan and is passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to sail on Lake Pontchartrain.
