We’re thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our 2025 Summer Camp at Community Sailing New Orleans! Whether your child is an experienced sailor or new to the water, this camp is packed with hands-on land and water activities that are all about exploring, learning, and making waves – both on the water and in themselves. Independence, adventure, and unforgettable memories await!

This year, we are offering two exciting options:

Big Boat Summer Camp (Ages 8-12)
Perfect for beginners or those who are still gaining comfort on the water, this camp introduces young sailors to the thrill of the water aboard stable keelboats. Kids ages 8-12 will learn the basics of rigging, steering, safety, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment. With plenty of hands-on instruction from certified coaches, campers will build confidence as they navigate calm waters and discover the joys of sailing. No prior experience is needed—just bring your sense of adventure!

About the Big Boats:
Freedom Independence 20s: Our keelboats provide a stable learning platform that is especially helpful for beginners and those who are still gaining comfort on the water. They accommodate 4 to 5 people at a time, and are specifically designed for stability and accessibility, making them ideal for beginner and adaptive sailing programs.

Small Boat Summer Camp (Ages 13-16)

Designed for older participants who are looking for more adventure on the water, this advanced camp for ages 13-16 focuses on small boat sailing. Campers will learn and refine sailing techniques, tackle advanced maneuvers, and develop skills in independent decision-making on the water. Certified instructors will guide participants through an action-packed week of drills, races, and exploration. It’s the perfect way to enhance sailing abilities while making lasting memories with fellow enthusiasts! *Prior boating experience recommended but not required. Comfort on the water and ability to swim are required.

About the Small Boats:
Club 420s: These two-person dinghies are popular for recreational sailing and competitive racing as they are used by sailors of all skill levels, from beginners to
collegiate champions. They are used competitively in youth, high school, and collegiate sailing programs across the country.
